Fighting Off Neverland

From my movie collection, I just finished watching Finding Neverland the true story of how J.M. Barrie created the boy wouldn't grow up. It occurred to me how while Barrie once upon a time was finding it; since then, most of us fight it off.

For a minute take a moment and remember the days of pillow forts and tree houses and imaginary friends and by imaginary I mean imagination, the best friend of all.

We all had imagination as our best friend at some point no matter how brief. There was a time where we believed that the world had magic in it and that anything was possible. Then there is that point in life where we get our first kick, then another and another before you know it we are jaded.

Time may make us age where  eventually our tick-tock parts begin to sag and we grow weary.

But there is no need for it to make us grow up!
Age is just a number and what ever it may be it should not number out the spirit of hope, adventure and imagination in us.

It is sad as you look around and see that so many people have misplaced it but it is a tragedy when you see that kids have lost it.

In a world of innocence lost too soon, broken homes, dead beat parents in some cases technology or just the grim reaper of temptation knocking on the door of preteens, kids grow up too soon.

12 years is too soon to lose that and so is 62 we all need to hold on to our inner Pan. Develop the syndrome whether your a man or a woman and when life pulls you down, let your happy thoughts lift you up.

Many of us who strive for careers in the creative fields keep it alive more than others. The children authors, the writers, painters, poets, filmmakers who create those worlds to escape to.

J.M. Barrie is a perfect example of an adult who was able to revive his life and putting the spark back in by looking at the world through the eyes of children and in some cases inspiring children to look through those eyes as well.

He created and fought for Neverland.  He was the man in Pan.

When he first befriended the Davies boys; people spoke of how that it was inappropriate and wondered if there was something more perverse behind it.

He replied: "That is outrageous. How could anyone think such an evil thing, they are just innocent children".

In a world that has had so many terrible things happen over time, peoples views get skewed and jaded.

Those are the biggest fighters against Neverland that the aged can't still be kids at heart.

Which makes me think of  Michael Jackson a man very much like J.M Barrie who has had  interactions with children that also inspired his creative.

Michael Jackson never quite grew up and had his Neverland within reach. I think he is more than a Pan but more like the creator.

Interestingly enough...  J. M. / M.J.

Barrie the last name of the man who created a world where kids don't have to grow up too fast....

Barry the first name of  Barry Gordy; a man who signed the Jackson 5 and put M.J. on a fast tract to success and in some ways growing up too fast.

Don't fight off Neverland, fight for it, no matter what happens in your life that kicks you down, or scars you, don't let it jade you. Believe in fairies and that good things are possible, have hope and dreams and silliness.

Life goes by too quick to grow up so fast.

You are not your age!

You are not your eaten time!

Tygra Vs Panthro

Versus

A fight between Tygra and Panthro was  a request from one of my fellow Chaddketeers who appreciates the Thundercats.

It also seems appropriate as first term in CreComm at Red River is coming to an end and posters of the Thundercats line the hallway advertising an End of the Term Party.
Although it  is a time to celebrate a break of the mind, and a time to relax and enjoy friends and family.
It is also a time and break from good connections made for many of us, as things get shaken up in the new year and term ahead.
Although I may seem like the kind of guy who loves change as I never keep one style for too long, this is a change I fear I am not sure I am ready to embrace.

It is true that there is strength in numbers as I have found my own strength through the number 3. I can only hope with the loss of such great supporting strength ahead, it will not showcase too much of my own weakness.

Like the the Thundercats lived and fought their fight on Third Earth, I have been fighting my good fight and living in "Three World" Section 3, that is, of the Creative Communications program at Red River. It has been hands down one of the greatest experiences of my life and I have the many talented people that have shared my journey with me to thank.

I am leaving my "Three World" and embarking on a new path. The one I will now journey through is that of "Two" For my friends who won't be fighting by my side next term I will surely miss, but now on to the "Mane" attraction

A staunch, level-headed warrior, based on a tiger, Tygra is known as the ThunderCat architect and scientist. He is the one Lion-O often turns to as second-in-command and for counsel. He is responsible for the design of all of the ThunderCat structures on Third Earth — the Cat’s Lair and the Tower of Omens. He is also gifted with "mind-power" — the ability to create life-like illusions in other people's minds; He is armed with a large bolo whip. that he can use to make himself invisible.
Tygra is the strong silent type, he has integrity and is an old soul and a romantic at heart as he harbors romantic feelings for Cheetara.
His weakness is that he can not swim and he hangs on to what he went through as boy.
( I am very much like Tygra)

This physically strong and cunning warrior is based on a panther. Panthro is known as the Thundercat mechanic/engineer and pilot. he is the second most noble and helps to build all the Thundercat vehicles. He arms himself with his martial art skills and nunchucks and the spikes on his chest can be used as projectile weapons or rappeling lines.
Panthro is a jovial soul but is also quick to lose his temper. His greatest weakness is his fear of bats and dislike of spiders.

So while my fight is soon ending with some of the most talented, coolest cats I've had the pleasure to know.......

Section

You tell me................... who would win a fight between these two cats?
(Assuming they stay away from bat caves and swimming pools......)

Rabbit (Short Story Review)

    Versus

Prelude:
Now before I delve into my review of the short story Rabbit that was published in the October issue of Prairie Fire I feel that I must touch base on what drew me to this story, it was the title. On Thursday I was  privledged to sit on the panel of my fellow classmate Robert Zirk's college radio show, Did You Just Make That Up. It could be compared to a radio version of Whose Line Is It Anyway. Fellow comedic classmates Dylan Hughes, Chuka Ejeckam, and Brea Perrelli along with myself ended up entangled in a improv skit about killer rabbits; I have not been able to fight off these images since. Aside from that my favorite pet ever was a rabbit named Twitch I had for 13 years which being a Netherland Dwarf had a life expectacy of only 6 years. I was also  born in the year of the rabbit. Now enough about and on to my review.

About the Author:
Rabbit was written by Theodora Armstrong, a fiction writer and poet who lives in Vancouver. Her work has appeared in many literary magazines such as Prairie Fire, Grain, The Fiddlehead, Descant, The New Quarterly and CV2. She has won a Western Magazine Award and holds a MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia and is currently at work on her first novel.

The Review:
Rabbit is told through the eyes of a nine year old girl named Dawn. Dawn lives with her single mother who works in the city. It is never mentioned what has become of her father, she has a brother who just turned 18. He is very self absorbed and has spent more time living abroad with other relatives than he has with his mom and sister. He has been back for nearly a year. The story opens up after the abduction of a young teenage girl has taken place. Dawn is hiding in the curtains watching her mom stand outside in the first snow fall talking to the man from next door. The street is a buzz with police cars and consoling, gossiping neighbours.

"My mom's breath is like a beautiful bubblegum balloon, so thin. It keeps reaching out, almost touching the neighbour, and then it disappears."

Above is just a sample of the great poetric description that Armstrong has emerge from the mind of a nine year old. You fall in love with Dawn instantly as she decribes so many different things such as watching her mom remove her pantyhose which can be a completely different experience depending on the weather outside or when she is spying on her 18 year old brother recieving oral sex from a 13 year girl who had just graduated her elementary school the year prior. This alone, that her brother Matt has been seen with this girl, has their mother upset, people talking, and the girl's father outraged.

The first time the word Rabbit is mentioned is when Dawn is submerged in the tub listening to her mother and brother arguing. She compares her tummy that has become red from the heat of the water to that of the skin as a rabbit followed by them being too squishy. It is mentioned again near the end of the story after her brother runs away from home. She is laying in the snow of her backyard where it meets the forest. She recalls a day where she spyed on her brother  as he shot his.22 rifle at soup cans and missed  nearly every time.
"I wish my brother would take me rabbit hunting, that way we could have rabbit stew for supper instead of soup."

You learn in this story that soup is a huge staple for Dawn as she has to prepare her own supper often when her mom works late.

I loved this story it brought me back to when I was nine, or just a little boy in general. I remember sitting in those cylinder cement block spying on things with binoculars or lying in the snow or grass or up in a tree being an observer as mind ran wild with innocence.

When you think of a rabbit you think of them sitting quiet, often you are unaware that they are. They are one of nature's greatest observers. Through this story, Dawn's observations are also often undetected.

Rabbit is not about an animal but is an analogy for the quiet  undetected observations of Dawn.

Long Fight, Fresh Start (List Poem)

Cannabis
Pipe; it’s a habit
Lucky rabbits foot; well not for the rabbit
Poncho; to keep the rain out
Flask; half full; to dull the pain out
Copy of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road; a guide
Passport
Ticket stub; I had a ticket to ride
Durable hiking boots; for the rough road ahead
Picture of a girl I once knew, we are strangers now; too much has been said
Sweater; to keep the cold out
Journal; to pour the soul out
Wallet; half empty; not much to my name
A memory,  A Zippo, with barely a flame.

Uncle Ben Vs The Cream of Wheat Guy

    Versus

In getting all caught up with posting assignments I have forgot to include the lighter side and how this blog first began; Bea VS Betty, the Golden Girl with the  Golden Gloves.

So now we will disect Which Grain will get the Gain with little, or no Pain

Uncle Ben VS The Cream Of Wheat Guy

Personally I think they are the same guy, but so were Tyler and Cornelius (One of Edward Norton's many support group names) and look how good some of their fights were.

I can just picture the training for their Fight Club, instead of in a back alley, they are in a field.

"I want you to hit this ear of corn as hard as you can," says Uncle Ben to his Cream of Wheat less cool self. "How much does one know about themself if they have never shucked something up."

I think Uncle Ben would be the Durden of the two for sure. He definitely oozes more cool than the Cream of Wheat guy and Much like Norton's character, do we really know the Cream of Wheat guy's "real" name. No! With that being said Norton  was Durden all along and he shot himself in the face and that's badass Cream of Wheat Guy may just be the Chuck Norris of porridge.

Uncle Ben probably picks up single chicks at weddings after throwing his rice at the Bride to be; after using pick up lines like Hey Baby, I'd like to stick closer to you than the white on my rice."

The Cream of Wheat guy and his Uncle Ben alter ego, the only thing linking them is their stange love for grain and bow ties.

Who would win in a rice flinging, pot wielding, all grain no pain fistdacuffs?

Now before you submit your answer, remember Cream Of Wheat is like the original Wheaties and Bruce Lee lived on rice and he was the bad ass of all bad asses, will that diet do the same for Ben; you decide.

The second rule of Fight Blog is that you must comment on Fight Blog

Don't break the rules, take a moment have some fun, give your answer and why.

"I am Ben's fluffy addiction."
"You are not your breakfast cereal."

When you stop fighting, you start dying: The Book Launch of Andrew Unger's Inches From America

"To be nobody but yourself in a world that's doing its best to make you someone else, is to fight the hardest battle you are ever going to fight. Never stop fighting."

The above quote makes me think of the protagonist in Mike Unger's first novel Inches from America; that was launched on November 14 in the atrium of McNally Robinson at Grant Park Shopping Centre.

Markus Dumont is the name of the protagonist character in the novel. Mike is a dual citizen from Canada who is living in Minnesota. He has just lost his girlfriend to a religous fanatic this only fuels the fire to his already burning hatred for religion and politics. The story take place during 9/11 and Markus feels nothing when he sees the Twin Towers being destroyed. He had lost the fight to care.

Andrew Unger a high school teacher from Steinbach speaks to the intimate crowd in the atrium at McNally Robinson. He stands at the podium like a champ, he won his fight, his struggle to get his first book published; a work that had been in progress since 2003.

Unger gives us highlights of the book and reads us passages and pages as the crowd listens intently. He intrigues us by letting us know that his protagonist character Markus Dumont gives up his fight and commits suicide which is what made me think of the quote I started my blog with. Markus tried to make his suicide look as though he was murdered by his ex-girlfriends new love interest; the religous nut.

The rest of the novel is told from the perspective of a dead Markus as he is stuck in purgatory. This is interesting because even as we live and breathe, if we stop fighting for what we are passionate about, what is right, what makes us tick, then we too are living in purgatory.

From what I have read and heard from Andrew Unger I reccommend this to be an interesting darker read from the anti- American perspective of a dead man. I plan to continue reading it myself and will be sure to update my blog again when I do.

If you have a dream fight for it to become a reality, it worked for Andrew Unger, a now respected published author.

Fighting A War Is Hell But So Is Training To Be A Warrior: A Veteran's Tale

But so is training..... A look into what Veteran Lawrence Blair has seen and experienced

“War is hell” was once quoted by General William T Sherman and if you ask Veteran Commander Lawrence Blair; training with the good intentions to fight in one, can be a paved road to it. Blair sits in the booth, eased, his elbows on the table, with the face of a well-groomed St. Nick, as a Jack Nicholson type of tongue and cheek emerges from it. Blair entered military training in 1970 and thought it was perfect fit from the background he came from.  “ I came from a violent brutal family. My father’s idea of disciplining me was punching me in the head, bouncing me of walls, and throwing me down flights of stairs,” says Blair. “He tried to knife my mother twice and burn the house down. I got used to this sort of thing and grew up around people being hurt, killed or beaten to a pulp. Both my step and real father were military men and when I was 16 I followed their footsteps and joined the infantry.

When Blair was 27 he worked as a street line guard at Princess Diana’s 1981 royal wedding. He recalls it, as an intense time and that there were threats to blow up the barracks where he was stationed. Over all he recalls it as a memorable time where he got to meet a lot of interesting people. “They have a different mindset about them out in England,” says Blair. “If they lose ten men out of a hundred during a training exercise, they find that to be an acceptable loss, whereas in Canada we find it hard to accept one loss without really good justification.”

Blair joined the military during a time in which he calls a lull period where there weren’t any wars to be called to. “There are many lives of soldiers that are lost in the training to fight for their country that go unrecognized,” says Blair. “I was one of the lucky ones and an adrenaline junkie at that, I let nothing affect me and I was foolish in my youth, and yet got out with barely a scrape while many of my comrades weren’t so lucky.”

Blair trained in Siloh Manitoba with the German Army, “It was foggy one night and they had their squadron of tanks out, we didn’t know where they were coming from. Our captain had been squished by a tank track, he was flat like a tube of toothpaste with his head popped off like the cap.”  Blair has seen things in training that most of us will never be able to relate to, with the exception of the special effects we see in the movies, except there is no second take.  “I’ve seen young soldiers die needless deaths with acts of haste in their preparation for battle. I recall a female soldier who rolled a gasoline truck, she survived for about 6 months after but was a mess and in constant pain. At nearly 21 she committed suicide by throwing herself in front of an oncoming semi-truck.”

“I fear for my soldiers.” Commander Lawrence Blair admits he is no hero, but that there are many who are. He doesn’t feel that war should be glorified, if anything he feels it should be demonized.
“Many people have freedoms that they wouldn’t have had if things had turned out differently,” says Blair  “Whether soldiers die in training or in war they go through hell and sacrifice so others can live better lives and we need to remember them more than just one day a year.”

Remembering the Ones Who Fought For Us

On the morning of November 11, 2010, the sky was a little darker, and hearts were a little heavier. People of young and old stood as tall as the pine trees at Vimy Ridge Park at 10:45 am. Veteran Tony Heppner comments, "There seemed to be more attendance last year." Father Captain Mawson led the invocation. There was a warmth of unity in the cold air, the chill cut beneath the skin, as did the message."Lest we forget." The season’s first snowflakes fell like tears, camouflaging real ones on the shivering faces that remember.

Father Mawson spoke of a soldier named Robert Metcalf that we lost a few years back when he died of natural causes at 90. "It’s amazing that he didn’t die at 20," said Mawson. "He was hit in both legs by shrapnel and en route to the hospital, his ambulance came under fire by a German tank. Robert Metcalf is the soldier standing at attention on our ten dollar bill."
An interesting piece of trivia that may have people remembering Metcalf’s sacrifice not just once a year, but next time they spend it on luxury.

Young Royal Winnipeg Rifle cadets fired their rifles three times, as a salute to past and present soldiers. Mittens become earmuffs for bundled-up children but they still remained quiet and watched with intrigue. Veterans stood at attention, as young greenhorn buglers played the last post. A Moment of Silence lingured as did the faint smell of pines trees in the brisk air. Father Mawson read the Act of Remembrance as veterans followed through with the laying of wreaths for the fallen but not forgotton

Craig Riddell remembers hearing stories of his grandfather and how he fought in the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Although he never knew him, and lives out in Transcona, he travels down to Vimy Ridge Park to honor him every Remembrance Day and has been doing so, for as long as can remember.

"Whether we knew them or not, it’s important to remember the sacrifices that they made."

Fright Blog

Snuck away from work for a few hours on Devils night, and while I did not find Eric Draven uttering the words "It can't rain all the time"
I found myself joining fellow classmate Veronica Neufeld as she led a spirited tour of historic Winnipeg landmarks in the heart of our city haunted by lost souls.

Started off at the Walker Theatre which was opened in December 1906 but construction wasn't completed till 1907 The theatre was named after owner Corliss Powers Walker who added it to his string of South Dakota Theatres.

This theatre is full of great history and eerie tales that you will not get from me here, but I will say if you are moved by movies such as Ghost and Titanic you'll want to get your self on this tour to find out more.

Next stop was the Marlborough Hotel, the hotel that opened it's doors on the eve of the first World War in 1914 and was originally called the Olympia. The ghosts here did not wear sheets, perhaps just waiting for them to dry as one lingeurs around the laundry room in a white dress from time to time while another will not only send shivers up your spine but tickles the ivories.

The Masonic Temple built by Masons in 1900 has been known to have strange rituals there and findings in the wall. While some places have dine
and dashers, the old Mother Tucker's has been known to have dine and vanishers.

The Kings Head Pub, once the location of a German newspaper is not only place where friends come together to drink spirits, but where friendly spirits have also been known to linguer.
Great eerie tales and history available on the Winnipeg Ghost Tour which I thoroughly enjoyed, it made me me want to get more in touch with the paranormal.
Pantages Playhouse Theatre was one of my favorite stops on the tour, it was named after Alexander Pantages. As a young boy from Greece, he fled to America and found himself involved in many things to finally end up involved in Vaudville which is what the Pantages Theatre was primarily used for when it first opened. Both this theatre and the Manitoba Theatre Centre has interesting history and ghost tales. I urge all Winnipeggers to go on this tour, it is very cool and informative.

Led by facinating tour guides it is something you will most definitely want to check out, if not this Halloween then next.

Beware of the chills, the footsteps, the howling, and disembodied eyes floating in the dark.

Play it again Sam, For old times sake

In a fight for safer streets, Winnipeggers decided to go for the ease of a familiar tune.

On Wednesday night at the downtown Radisson Hotel, morale was sky high on the eleventh floor. The anticipation built, to see if a third term was the charm for Sam Katz. The number of votes between incumbent Sam Katz and opponent Judy Wasylycia-Leis were neck and neck for a while, but at the final count according to Winnipeg polls Sam Katz remains the head of our city with a total of 116,308 votes to Wasylycia-Leis’ 90,913, while Brad Gross sat in third at 3,393 and Rav Gill in last place with 1,175 votes.
The lights dimmed, and the cheering of proud Katz supporters echoed throughout the packed room; it had the feel of an intimate rock concert.  The song “Eye of the Tiger” from Rocky III bellowed from the speakers, a fitting anthem as Winnipeg’s third time champ as mayor was led by an entourage of  firefighters, to the podium.

He came out in a robe, punching and kicked a few soccer balls while kids were taken out of harms way.
Ok, so there were was no kids or soccer balls, or Mr. T for that matter saying I pity the fools that lost, but it definitely might have added to it.

It was however a proud moment for Sam, friends and family and they all got their kicks from it.
The eye of Winnipeg’s tiger had a tear in it, as he addressed his supporters and city.
“Thank-you to all-I guess all Winnipeggers who voted today, so we could keep doing what we do to move Winnipeg forward.”
Mike Sutherland, president of the Winnipeg Police Association is excited about what moving Winnipeg forward will mean, with Katz being re-elected.
“The mayor has always been a strong supporter of police and our fight against crime and the battles we wage on the front lines,” says Sutherland. “By bolstering our strength with the specific and definitive promise of 58 new officers, 19 dispatch personnel and a helicopter on line, as well as cadets we are poised to make a significant dent in our crime rate and change the perception. My members are excited to get out there turn things around.”
Excitement was thick in the air, clapping, and chants of the name Sam filled the room. The mayor squeezes both of his daughters’ hands and assures them that their daddy will be home in the morning, while assuring his supporters that Winnipeg is on its way to becoming a safer and stronger city.
“Overall I think the public liked what yours truly and council have been doing, and want us to continue it, says Katz, regarding his re-election. “Next week Winnipeg will be announced as the best city to invest in and that took us a long time to get there.” Katz will be sworn in, Tuesday.
Rainbow confetti rained from the ceiling, and music played and Katz would continue his reign as mayor; it was truly a celebration.
“I think it’s great that Sam got back in,” says Gord Gage, who is in internet media advertising. “It’s good for the safety, business, and growth of Winnipeg.”

The concensus of Winnipeg acted as Bogey to say: "Play it again Sam, For old times sake"
 (mayor that is)

The Social Network

 May contain spoilers:

A social night out that I have not had in a while with new friends that I did not meet on facebook but actually in person.
Some may be thinking how will this pertain to the consistent theme I normally have in Fight Blog.

For starters.
DAVID FINCHER
Director of FIGHT CLUB
Director of THE SOCIAL NETWORK

Facebook was spawn from heartbreak....as many things are; such as Maroon 5's Songs about Jane and the only ear to ever be sent in the mail courtesy of Van Gogh.
Zuckerberg never wrote any songs, or sent an ear but he did write an eyeful on his blog and than got an earful for it later.
In fighting off his heartbreak he had a breaking new idea; FACEBOOK

Seems reasonable, push away a close friend, then find a way to invite new estranged ones in to your life.

Would I say that Mark Zuckerberg was portrayed in a positive light?
I would say he was portrayed as human, as we all just are, with actons often driven by jealousy and insecurity and acceptance and power.
He pushed away a girl he really liked, in a bit of a negative  way, but he channeled losing her into a positive enterprise, in which I believe he just got caught in the undertow of.

I must say, if I have learnt anything, it is that if I cant find LOKE (A combination of love and like; I don't want to set the bar too high) than I better find my way to some innovation and make some money.

Money may not buy love, but it can buy your way out of a hefty lawsuit after you fuck your friends over, and remember your status is single so who else are you gonna screw.

The fight to be cool: the beginning essence of FACEBOOK how true that is in heartbreak, you must show the one who broke your heart you are cool, ZEN even, that you don't care.
You must be cool in order to attract new hearts, but if you invest too much into being cool, you lose your essence.

The fight to rise above the silver spoon fed, especially when you have better recipes for success, but are forced to eat with plastic cafeteria sporks. Zuckerberg did this but had to eat some crow for it later, but with proper silverware.

The fight to be accepted by old friends and new ones, when you succeed at this, it is one more uppercut in the face of loneliness.

So at the end of the day with his billion in the bank, maybe Zuckerberg got in his share of uppercuts.

Did I like the movie?
I did.
Fincher is a brilliant director, and in my opinion if you are a fan of his movies such as Fight Club you can tell his trade marks and fingerprints were all over the Social Network.

This is just one man's opinion but I expect the film was positive for the webite. It gave life, character, heart, and a humanism to Zuckerberg that I believe we can all relate to, even if we care not to.
I actually appreciate the site even more now, knowing it was the lost affection of a woman that catapulted it.

That might just be the hopless romantic in me speaking, but you have to appreciate someone who takes a relationship gone a wry from poor social couth and allow heartbreak, anger, and innovation to spiral it into a social phenomenom.

In the PR Post called Zuckerberg, Hearst and Hollywood: Zuckerberg kind of blows the whole movie off.

I actually appreciate that and I think a wider audience would too. It shows that he doesn't take himself too seriously. I noticed nothing was mentioned about the girl in the movie, maybe an oversight, maybe an omission, maybe she was fiction.

As a guy I stand by, that many great things can be fueled by the affection for, or the loss of a girl.
I choose to believe this is no exception.

For my fight blog fans:
Remember sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken.

But if I am wrong, then another RULE OF FIGHT BLOG is;  You must not eat another chicken it is cruel to chickens and bad for business.

Stop fighting the urge!
Get up from your computer!
Go outside and get social!

FACE to FACE.

The Fantastic Five & The Fight To Take Out the Trash (Continued)

It's A Rip....
It's A Tear..........

It's Buyer Beware.....

The last time we left our heroes, they were up against the Trash Bag Gang....

The Eco Duo/The Rona Boys: A father and son team:
Eco- Biodegradable, the son, was a child of and for the earth, he was a hippie. But being new to scene he would cave under pressure, so dad, Eco Recycled carried the weight of the team, word on the street was he could bench press 80 lbs. Junior handled the small backyard jobs like rustling up and bagging leaves.

Old School: Husky didn't believe in going green, he just was and was beginning to go soft in the seams.
He was all trash talk, he would cave under pressure, the sight of twigs would tear him up and he had a fear of water.  It was time to get this guy off the street, his cred has been all talk and no show.

The Pretty Boy: Glad Force Flex: GFF was the gang "G" he had the diamond weave bling and was known to stretch the truth with how much weight he held in the community. He wasn't much of a force to be reckoned with, but at the end of the day he was flexible. You could stick with him for a companion in yard clean up but don't expect him to branch out from that, because helping to make your yard prettier is all this lightweight pretty boy is good for.

The Ladies Man/ Great Value: Popular with the housewives and quite the charmer with the pocketbook. But just as one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, one shouldn't judge a bag by it's box. All in all GV is tougher than some in the gang no doubt about it, but he's on tough on the earth, where as Eco Recycled is tough on trash and easy on the earth.

RIP!
TEAR!
                  SEEP!

After putting the pressure on this band of bags...
The Fantastic Five  continued to rid consumers of their blues and continued their fight to get on the news.

Weight, Wood, and Water... Oh My!

It was Fantastic Five VS Plastic Five and after rips, tears, and seeps...only one bag reined supreme... Eco-Recycled

It carried it's weight, and didn't bottom out under the pressure.

This is the bag that the heroes use as we continue to save consumers from their bad shopping habits, save the backlanes from wandering trash, and continue our fight to save the earth.

Fantastic Five is:
-The Hostess with The Mostess aka Michelle.... she lured the gang to her own turf.
-The Eye aka Sharon.... she caught every one of their tricks on film and called all their bluffs.
- Miss Detail aka Brea.... an amazing attention to detail, down to the letter, there was no trash talk being done with out her stamp of approval.
-The Paper Boys aka Chadd and Dave....it was Paper VS Plastic, in the fight of weights and water and only Eco Recycled was up for the challenge and down for the earth.

With this bag now on our team, We continue to fight as the
