My Own Worst Enemy

Self destruction may be the answer for some, in a Jeopardy game show kind of way, if the question is why don't we get what we want?

It could be argued I am a little obsessed with the movie Fight Club, hence the blog and some of the paraphernalia I have at home, even the montage I am doing is revolving around a bit of a Fight Club theme.

It is not just the amazing cast and director I love, or the underlying messages of how society wants to put labels on us, but I think we all have our own version of Tyler Durden within.

Well I am not going to speak for anyone but me, I fight with myself on a daily basis. It may be days where the nice guy is overpowering and I can feel myself finishing last with every breath in that moment. Maybe I say too much, maybe I don't say enough, maybe it is my wild impulsive side, that is getting me in trouble as I don't think though my actions or decisions.

I can relate to this movie how often I can be my own worst enemy

This leads me to my segway My Own Worst Enemy was Christian Slater's  first attempt at a comeback in TV land as he had seemed banished from movie world.

Some have said he is one of my celebrity doppelgangers, which I took as a huge compliment, I used to love the dark humored actor that had great one liners in movies such as...

"Is it bigger than a baby's arm remember,my dear, I can smell a lie like a fart in the car."

Heathers....  "Greetings and salutations"

and who could forget one of Tarantino's first movies....

"If I had to fuck a guy, I mean if my life depended on it, I'd fuck Elvis"

He had great lines and shared the screen with some great actors and then he fell off and landed in TV.

I personally liked  My Own Worst Enemy which was essentially a modern day Dr Jekyl amd Mr. Hyde, but it had an extremely short life span.

Try number 2 was The Forgotton, a title that would almost make you think it was about Christian's career, but in fact it was about a volunteer organization that helped uncover the identities of John and Jane Does. It was a pretty interesting show from the few episodes I saw but alas, it only made it to it's first birthday before dying.

So is Christian slated for tv, we will find out if his third time is the charm as he sets to star in Breaking In, a show about a high tech security team that is hired to break into computer systems that is set to air on Wed April 6.

.... As much as I am a fan of the early Christian days, I think I will hold out for.....

Some times we are drawn to the characters on shows we look at on the idiot box.
Some times we look like an idiot with the sides of our character we show.

I myself am a blanket of flaws stitched together with the thread of good intentions.

In the ring of life, the fight within produces no champions.

First rule of fight blog, is that you must comment on fight blog.
